22? or 12? You decide.

Hey All!

Told yah I'd be back to blogging shortly!

So here's an update from good ol Logan Ut!

I've been spending a lot of my time here...

We filmed a few workout videos this week which was pretty fun!
Here's the crew...

Even though I had to be at work by 6 for a few days, it was an awesome time seeing how a video production crew works. Hopefully this love for the commercial world can carry me through missing the nice weather!

In other news, The Reeds have been doing typical summertime things like getting snow cones...

Love Clay's drinking face.

I've been practicing taking pics with my iphone... I thought this one was pretty neat.

PS if anyone is in the Logan area, I'm craving a fun photoshoot and I need models! Let me know!

On a completely different note, Clay has recently discovered my really weird love of plants. I asked for pots and plants for my birthday, and I'm DYING not having a place where I can plant a garden. This love has been around for a LONG time... Exhibit A:
Look at what a little munchkin I was!
Also take a look at my garden. That's right, MY garden. I would go out every day and water my little plants by hand, and yes, I would chat with them (plants grow better when they know they are loved you know)

Well last weekend I decided to pass on my love of plants and passed the torch to Hayden

Please ignore how pasty I am. This is why I was outside for 12 hours. :)

Just a little side tidbit because I'm sure I will talk about my struggles with gardening at an apartment on here again...

Now, onto the REAL point of this post!
Monday was a very special day!
On Monday, my love turned 22!

It was also his first day of big people school! Look how excited he is...
After he finished up his first day of classes (which he loves) we moved onto opening presents! This one was definitely a big hit...
Should make for some good adventures this summer. :)

Clay's mom and grandparents also took the time to drive down and took us out to lunch! We had a great time chatting and eating pasta :) Wish I would have taken pictures!

Clay also got an early birthday present (impulse buy) a few days before his birthday.

We were cruising around Walmart and decided to go check out the fish for kicks and giggles and we discovered this pretty boy...
Neither of us had never seen a betta fish like this, and we both concluded that he was rare... and that he needed to come home with us.

Clay named him Oscar and he became part of our growing family!

Little did Clay know that our family would get a little bigger with my present.

So, Clay is incredibly easy to get presents for. He has been saying that he would love to get a bearded dragon for a while now (which of course I supported fully) but after looking at them every single time we went to Petsmart for crickets, I broke the news that it would be WAY to expensive to get one.

Little did he know I had been putting money aside to surprise him with this little guy...
It was totally worth it for the look on his face. :)

Alright, now I have a little story for yah.
So before Clay and I got hitched, I was introduced to The Reed Birthday Cake. It has been a tradition to have this cake for almost every single Reed birthday. Very cool right?
Unfortunately this cake is a little bit tricky (for me) to make.
After Clay and I got engaged I was told that it would be my responsibility to make this cake, or the tradition would die out. (insert ominous music here)

I put on a strong face and told my mother-in-law I would not let her down, while trying to swallow my new found responsibility.

She got me all the stuff for the cake as a wedding present and on Monday I began my quest to become a true Reed woman and successfully make the Reed Birthday cake.

There were a few moments of stress, and I did have to improvise (O... I don't have a double boiler)

But guess what?

I did it!
The critiques (Clay) have spoken! I am now TRUELY part of the Reed clan!

To celebrate, we invited our single friends (only friends) over for some cake
Only to discover we didn't have birthday candles... so once again, we improvised.

After delicious cake, and some strong persuasion by Clay, we went to the movie "Super 8." For those of you that don't know, I am absolutely terrified of alien movies. (not the brown fence jumping kind) ;) I can watch almost any other kind of scary movie except those of the alien variety. I can't even watch E.T. I promise it's not spoiling the movie, but "Super 8" is basically a new, more sinister version of E.T. Yes I was a good wife and sucked it up. I was so jumpy the entire time but I managed to make it through without screaming (or crying for that matter).

So, we went to an Alien movie, ate birthday cake with friends, and Clay received a bike and a lizard for his birthday.
Yah, I might have married a 12 year old.

But I love every minute of it

Hope you all are having a lovely summer!

Love,
the 12 year olds at heart
